Josh Farkes singled to right, and Chris Mahoney attempted to score from second, having gotten there on a stolen base after he singled. It looked like Anthony Smith had gotten the ball to Brendan Monaghan in plenty of time to make the play at the plate, but somehow, Mahoney managed to get in just the right position as to touch the plate before being tagged. Or at least, that's what happened in the eyes of our trusted and honored home plate umpire, who admittedly is much closer to the play than I am. In any case, it's 1-1 as we go to the bottom of the second.
