Big East: Day 3 Just About Underway
By Adam Caparell - May 24, 2007
Day 3 of the Big East Tournament is about to get underway here at Keyspan Park in Coney Island in beautiful Brooklyn, N.Y. where the sun is warm, the boardwalk is busy and the crowd is sparse as Rutgers and Villanova get ready for the first of two games to be played today.
Rutgers will trot Matt Giannini (4-4, 7.29) out to the mound where he'll be opposed by Nova's Bill Hoffman (4-7, 6.35). Villanova is the home team this afternoon as first pitch quickly approaches I honestly think the two teams out-number the amount of fans in the stands. Hopefuly as the day winds down, the people on the beach will find their way over to Keyspan.
In Game 2, UConn meets St. John's, scheduled for 7 p.m. The Huskies are the home team.
The losers of both games go home.
