Big East: Hanginaround

By Elliot Olshansky - May 22, 2007

We're moving along here in Brooklyn, as Notre Dame and Rutgers continue to try and put together runs, but the teams remain deadlocked at two runs apiece midway through the sixth inning.

The crowd, as mentioned before is considerably lighter for the second game, and significantly more partisan, with Rutgers having more of the support here for obvious reasons.

However, there are still more than a few (ostensibly) impartial observers in the crowd, as players and coaches from both Pitt and USF - who will meet at 5 p.m. in our third game of the day - taking seats in the stands to observe the action. I'd say they'd root for the team that would be easier to beat, but neither squad would see either the Knights or the Irish until the championship game, and there's a lot of baseball to be played before then.

It's kind of funny that these guys can sit in the crowd, because when Rutgers got here this morning, the Scarlet Knights were mobbed by schoolkids wanting autographs. Timing is everything, but I figure that since this is baseball, everyone already knows that.
