Big South Game 6 ... Winthrop vs. Liberty

By David Cloninger - May 24, 2007

Liberty swept Winthrop two weeks ago in a three-game set, effectively ending the Eagles' at-large NCAA hopes and kick-starting a 1-5 conference finish after a 14-1 start. Let's see if the Eagles are good and ticked off about it.

The Flames, meanwhile, looked good yesterday, rallying from a 2-1 deficit in the ninth to win 3-2 over rival VMI. Should be interesting to see if Winthrop coach Joe Hudak will go with Brett Moore, who threw six perfect innings against Liberty but still lost against Liberty, or Jason Franzblau (team wins leader) will get the call on the mound.
