Chapel Hill: UNC Goes Up 13-9

By Kenny Cook - May 13, 2007

UNC has added 2 runs in both the 6th and 7th to take a four run lead. In the 6th, Seth Williams hit a solo HR to put the Tar Heels on top off reliever Brad Rulon. Tim Fedroff then walked, advanced on a wild pitch, and scored when SS Patrick Long had a throwing error trying to complete a double play.

In the 7th, Josh Horton singled to lead off the inning and eventually scored on a sac fly by Tim Fedroff. Seth Williams walked and later scored on a single by Reid Fronk to give the Heels a 4 run lead. The 8 and 9 spots for UNC (Fedroff and Johnson) are a combined 6 for 6 with 3 walks, 6 runs scored, and 4 RBI.

Matt Wieters just greeted closer Andrew Carignan with a leadoff double, and I expect there is still more scoring to come.

Following Mother's Day and Graduation brunches, a crowd of 1,975 eventually made their way to Boshamer Stadium for the series finale.
