Checking in from Knoxville

By Mark Etheridge - May 05, 2007

Starkville on Friday, Knoxville on Saturday. In between 400 miles and seven hours. It should have been six but the great state of Alah-bamuh decided to divert traffic off I-59 and into the land time forgot. But I'm here at Lindsey Nelson Stadium with a backdrop of the Appalachian mountains along the Tennessee River. To my left is Thompson-Boling Arena and Neyland Stadium. Down below are some of best examples of the proper way to wear a mini-skirt. If the rain stays away, it'll be a good evening.

Probable All-SEC sophomore RHP Lance Lynn (5-3/2.49) takes the hill for the Rebels. Tennessee goes with freshman LHP Nick Hernandez (3-2/5.94).

Last night was a wild one here where Tennessee got just three hits but beat Ole Miss 3-2. The Vols scored two in the bottom of the ninth on four consecutive walks and a bloop single over the drawn in infield. Hard to beat that for excitement.
