Cowboy Rally

By Tristan Threlkeld - May 19, 2007

The Cowboys must have heard my complaining and they produced some big hits with runs added to 'em. Senior Keanon Simon started off the sixth with a single up the middle and it looked like he would be another left on base. Corey Brown was the third batter up of the inning and he received his second walk of the game. With runners on first and second Rebel Ridling came to the plate with intentions of knocking the cover off the ball, well he didn't knock the cover off it but he tried and his fly ball out to center moved Simon to third. Then Matt Mangini came to the plate and battled through 10 pitches to get an RBI single and move Brown over to third and move the Cowboys within two with a 5-3 score. Brown may have helped Mangini get the hit as he was on his horse to second when the ball came right behind him. It looked like the fielder lost the ball in the process. Jordy Mercer was next to the plate and he countered the Tigers pitcher Rick Zagone with an RBI infield single to score Brown and move the Cowboys to within one.

At the end of the sixth the Cowboys are feeling momentum swing their way for the first time this weekend with the score 5-4 in favor of the Tigers, but the Cowboy fans are roaring into the bottom of the seventh with the hopes of a Cowboy comeback.
