Fly ball rally
By Tristan Threlkeld - May 20, 2007
In the bottom of the fourth inning the Cowboys used a little fly ball magic to tie the game up 3-3. Matt Mangini started the inning off for the Cowboys with a double to left field. Steve Ptak was due up next for the Pokes but he fouled out to the first baseman. Nine hole batter Ryan Pittman was next up and he started the fly ball frenzy with a double to shallow right field after Tigers right fielder Aaron Senne lost the ball in the sun, the hit moved Mangini to third. Keanon Simon was next on the list for the fly ball frenzy. With Cowboy fans going crazy on the hit as the Tigers shortstop, left fielder and third baseman all collided and fell to the ground leaving nobody to cover third. Tiger shortstop Lee Fischer made the catch for the second out of the inning, but Mangini tagged up and scored the tying run for the Cowboys. Pittman was paying close attention and tagged up himself to move to third base when he noticed nobody was covering third. The Cowboys left Pittman stranded and ended the fourth inning in a 3-3 tie.
