Long ball fever

By Mark Etheridge - May 12, 2007

Vandy's Mike Minor retired the first two hitters in the first before Josh Donaldson smacked a double. With first base open and a 3-0 count on cleanup man Mike Bianucci, AU coach Tom Slater gave Bianucci the swing away sign. That worked out pretty well as he the sophomore slammed a home run to give Auburn a 2-0 lead. That's his 14th home run this season.

Vanderbilt answered in the top of the second with Pedro Alvarez led off with a long home run to center. For the Vandy sophomore, it was his fourteenth home run of the season tying him for the team lead with Dominic de la Osa.
