MVC: 1st Base Bag Very Good to Salukis

By Jean Neuberger - May 24, 2007

How's this for a lucky break?

With one out and a runner on second, Kevin Koski hit a bouncing grounder. It bounced well for SIU, as it actually hit the first base bag, skied up and over Shocker 1B Derek Schermerhorn's head and down the right field line. It turned out to be a triple for Koski, as Michael Finigan scored to make it a 4-2 game.

However, SIU could do no more. Kyle Touchett struck out Aaron Roberts, and Adam Hills grounded out to short to end the inning.

It took a bounce off the first base bag to do it, but the Salukis have trimmed Wichita's lead to two as we start the eighth.
