MVC: Collison Almost Causes Brawl

With two outs and Nolan Keane on second for Missouri State, Matt Lawson singled to right field. Keane raced home, but the relay throw from Aces RF Jeff Zelenovich was on the money, and with Kirk Bascu holding the ball, Keane ran head on into him. Bascu held out, ending the inning, but a MVC rule states that a runner isn't allowed to collide with the catcher, so players from the Aces side, as well as Bascu, jumped up in protest.

Players from both sides came to support their fellow player, and the umpires had to huddle for a few minutes before making a decision: Keane has been ejected from the game for colliding with Bascu.

This might be the spark Evansville needs, as they trail Missouri State 3-1 as we head to the fourth.
