MVC: Missouri State Ties It Up
By Jean Neuberger - May 23, 2007
This was going to be the marquis matchup of the night. Halfway home, it's lived up to its billing.
Missouri State played their own version of smallball in the top of the fifth, as Ben Carlson walked, and Ben Woodbury advanced him to second on a bunt, but Woodbury beat the throw to first, sending the maroon clad Bear fans into hysteria. Tanner Mattson laid down a perfect sac bunt down the third base line to advance both runners, and Nolan Keane's grounder to second scored Carlson to knot this game up at 2-2.
Freshman Buddy Braumann has found a groove, as he's yet to allow a hit, and it's become a real pitcher's duel as we head to the bottom of the fifth. The Shocks need to start hitting, especially with the momentum on MSU's side.
