MVC: Question Asked, Question Answered

By Jean Neuberger - May 23, 2007

In my last post, I asked if Creighton could muster up any cushion for LHP/RHP Pat Venditte, who has pitched 2.2 innings of perfect ball for the Jays. Creighton responded, loading the bases up with no outs, and forcing SIU coach Dan Callahan to replace Daniel Wells on the mound with RHP Jordan Powell. Powell got Andrew Small to pop up to shallow center, but Ross Sinclair, tagging from third, beat the throw home to give Creighton their first lead of the game at 6-5.

The Creighton bench, as well as their fans, are starting to get a little noisy here in Springfield, while the SIU bench looks deflated, and somewhat stunned, by the events of the last four innings.

6-5 Jays as we head to the seventh.
