MVC: Shox Beat The Tag

After Aaron Shafer got Creighton to go 1-2-3, the Shockers answered in the bottom half with a one-out double to left by Derek Schermerhorn. Matt Brown then hit a sizzling Sunday hop that bounced off of Creighton 2B Michael Lam and into right field. Brown made it to first, while Schermerhorn, never slowing down, rounded third and just beat the tag home, giving Wichita the early 1-0 lead after one inning of play.

More fans are filing in...looks like a walk-in crowd is helping this one out. Most are still decked in bright yellow, and we've even got a couple of big yellow WSU flags. Nice school spirit, especially for the MVC title day (we don't know if this is the title game yet.
