MVC: Weber Lights One Up

By Jean Neuberger - May 26, 2007

After a combined 13 straight batters retired by both pitchers here, Tyler Weber launched a Marc Lewis offering into the grassy knoll in left center field, electrifying the Shocker fans and getting the flags back out on the third base side. Gene Stephenson high fived, then pointed to Weber as he trotted home, making it 2-0 Wichita State.

Pitch Count has taken Aaron Shafer out of the game. No doubt Stephenson wants to use him some more today if Wichita can hold on, so the Shockers now have sent RHP Andy Womack (3-1, 2.29 ERA) to the mound. He'll face the top of the Creighton order in the sixth, as WSU tries to force a second game.
