MVC: Welcome to the BU Home Run Derby
By Jean Neuberger - May 25, 2007
With Bradley scoring four of their five runs courtesy of the long ball, Dan Brewer decided to join the Bradley Long Ball Club. Brewer sent a Tim Clubb fastball directly into the bullpen in left for a two-run shot, and the Braves have upped their lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
Missouri State has sent Clubb to the showers, and now RHP Jake Shafer (1-5, 6.91 ERA) is the new pitcher.
There are still no outs in the inning, and how about this for a stat? Bradley has seven hits in the game so far...and ALL of them have gone for extra bases. Four homers, two doubles and a triple for the Braves right now.
This leads to two questions for this game: Can Bradley get a single? And can Missouri State hold the Braves scoreless for an inning?
We'll find out as we continue here from Hammons Field.
