MWC: Cougars Take Early Lead
By Jason Owens - May 25, 2007
BYU's Jesse Craig got some support in the second inning as the Cougars struck first to take a 1-0 lead. Chris Johnson walked Kent Walton and Steve Parker made him pay with an RBI double that sent Walton home.
The Horned Frogs threatened in the bottom of the inning with two on and one out, but Craig took advantage of the bottom of the lineup by getting Corey Steglich and Ben Carruthers out. Against TCU, that’s an impressive feat as the Horned Frogs really don't have a weak point in the lineup. Steglich and Carruthers are.333 and .317 hitters respectively, a luxury that very few teams are afforded.
