MWC: Hutchison Impressive in Likely UNLV Loss

By Jason Owens - May 24, 2007

Trailing 6-0 in the seventh to a vastly superior team, UNLV isn't likely to pull off the upset over TCU today. But lost in the shuffle of the dominant TCU showing is a solid pitching performance from freshman reliever Matt Hutchison. He came into the game facing a 5-0 deficit after TCU hit consecutive home runs and managed the game well. He went on to pitch 4.2 innings of one-run baseball with seven strikouts against a pretty potent TCU lineup before Michael Goodman took his place in the sixth.
