MWC: Lobos Strike First

By Jason Owens - May 23, 2007

Jordan Pacheco struck out but still managed to score a run in the first inning to get New Mexico on the board for a 1-0 lead over San Diego State in the second game of the day at the MWC Tournament. Pacheco, the MWC's leading hitter with a .421 batting average and ridiculous .454 average in conference play, reached first when SDSU catcher Frank Lonigro couldn't handle strike three and didn't get a good throw to first base.

After Pacheco advanced to second on a groundout, Matt Hibbitts knocked him in with a single to left field.
