MWC: Lobos Strike With Two Runs

By Jason Owens - May 24, 2007

The New Mexico bats have got Lance Sewell's number and the Aztecs didn't have the advantage of an unusual double play to bail them out in the second inning. The Lobos capitalized on a leadoff single from Ian Hollick, a walk and a solid sacrifice and took advantage of a throwing error to take a 2-0 lead.

Both runs scored when Scott Gracey hit a ground ball to third base. Nick Romero’s errant throw got past first baseman Joe Spiers allowing Hollick and Adam Courcha, who reached on a walk, to score unearned runs.
