MWC: Pitchers Settling Down

By Jason Owens - May 24, 2007

After a quick start for both offenses, the pitchers have settled down for what looks like yet another duel here at the MWC Championship. We're at the seventh inning stretch, and other than the New Mexico run scored on the dicey balk called in the fourth inning, both Jake Wortham and Stephen Smith have plowed through the opposing batters for three straight innings as New Mexico leads 3-2. This is setting up to be another exciting finish. It would be a shame in the fourth-inning New Mexico run turns out to be the difference in the game.
