MWC: UNLV Picks Up One More

The Rebels tacked another run on in the eighth to cut the BYU lead to 10-9 thanks to another Xavier Scruggs RBI. Ryan Kowalski and Keith Smith picked up hits to lead off the inning and Scruggs hit a ground ball for a fielder's choice and RBI to knock Kowalski in.

With BYU at the plate, reliever Adam Moser is locked in and has pitched three innings of shutout ball. And the Rebels go into the ninth with another boost of energy as right fielder Calvin Beamon put an end to BYU's inning with a perfect strike to home plate to throw Wes Gunther out as he tried to score from second on a Stephen Wells single.
