MWC: Zzzzzzzz

By Jason Owens - May 23, 2007

After a pair of tightly-contested games to start the day, San Diego State has turned the night game into a snoozer. Unless something dramatic happens, the Aztecs will live to play another day and Utah is headed home. Steven Hirschfeld continues to baffle the Utah hitters while Utes pitching staff can't find an answer for the SDSU bats.

At the seventh-inning stretch, the Aztecs hold a 7-0 lead and are getting solid performances from all over the place. Frank Lonigro has scored two runs, Brandon Glover is 2-for-4, Pat Colwell is 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Matt Parker and Brian Lucas have two RBI a piece.

But the star of the game continues to be Hirschfeld, who has seven strikeouts and has allowed just three hits through six innings of shutout pitching.
