NASHVILLE: Aluminum bat homer

By Chris Lee - May 17, 2007

Vandy's Matt Meingasner went the other way to right on a pitch from LSU's Charlie Furbush. There was no buzz in the crowd when the ball was hit as it didn't seem to be hit all that well, and no one in the press box even thought the ball would get out, as it looked like it would be a lazy foul ball that was going to drift foul along the line in left.

But right fielder Steve Broschofsky suddenly ran out of room, and Meingasner's hit squeezed just inside the foul pole in right and just over the fence, and Vandy has a 1-0 lead over the Tigers in the second.
