NASHVILLE: de la Osa breaks the silence

By Chris Lee - May 19, 2007

The Vandy bats had been quiet for the past three innings off LSU righty Jared Bradford, but a solid, two-out single by Alex Feinberg kept the inning alive for Dominic de la Osa, who homered last night and has been torrid for about the last six weeks.

As he has done so many times, de la Osa hit a towering shot over the green monster in left and on top of Memorial Gym, and the Commodores have a 3-1 lead. De la Osa is making a serious case for all-SEC and all-American honors with an on-base percentage over .450, a slugging percentage approaching .750 and 17 steals in 23 attempts, and 10 homers in SEC play.
