NASHVILLE: DP F8-6-3

LSU continues to find creative ways to run into outs today. WIth Jared Mitchell on first and a long fly ball to center from Steve Broschofsky, David Macias retreated in center and Mitchell, thinking the ball would get over Macias's head, dashed past second and then stopped about two steps past the bag as he realized the ball might be caught.

The speedy Mitchell then began his retreat back to the first base bag. The problem was, he didn't tag second base back on his way to first and instead cut around the inside of the bag, and when shortstop Ryan Flaherty's throw went to Brad French at first, umpire Jack Cox rung him up with no argument from the LSU dugout.

Vandy made three quick outs in its half of the inning, so we're still tied at one after two complete.

Teams have to learn really quick that you can't make stupid mistakes against Vandy. Beating the 'Dores requires smart baseball.

Chris, is Corbin going to throw Price down in Hoover, or save his stars for regional play?
