NASHVILLE: One hit, one run for Tigers

By Chris Lee - May 17, 2007

LSU has just one hit, but made it stand up for a run here in the fourth against Vandy. Chris Jackson just scored from third with a little help from Dominic de la Osa in right. De la Osa is having an all-American-type season, but didn't make a good play in right just now.

De la Osa mis-judged Blake Dean's fly ball to right, and had to get on his horse to catch up with it going back to right to register the second out. Jackson had moved 15 feet towards home, and had to go back furiously, then tag to go home.

Meanwhile, de la Osa nonchalantly got the ball in to the cutoff man, as Jackson scored easily on what should have been a close play at the plate.

The Tigers got another hit and had a runner on first with two outs, but Price got a tapper from Nicholas Pontiff to end that threat.

One apiece as Vandy will come to the dish in the fourth momentarily.
