NASHVILLE: Streak alive

By Chris Lee - May 17, 2007

Vanderbilt shortstop Ryan Flaherty has just extended his hitting streak to 22 games with a two-out single in the seventh that sent Pedro Alvarez to third with two outs.

Matt Meingasner followed with a harmless chopper to shortstop Michael Hollander, and Hollander flipped to Chris McGhee at second for out three. But McGhee inexplicably dropped the flip, allowing the Commodores to get another run.

Vandy's David Price has struck out 13 through seven, giving up just four hits and throwing 108 pitches thus far. Price comes out for the eighth, as Vandy has a 4-1 lead over LSU.

A Commodore victory would clinch a tie for the SEC regular season title.
