SEC: Another Complete

By Doug Kroll - May 24, 2007

Well, there was Will Kline yesterday and Nick Schmidt as well. Today is the Bryan Augenstein story. His head coach leaves him there when it looked as if the roof was collapsing on a very well pitched game, but he was able to hang on and strike out Brandon May to end Alabama's run here in Hoover. UF holds on and wins 3-2 to keep their faint NCAA Tournament hopes alive. What this does for Alabama could be interesting. A lot of folks around here don't think they'll get in now, but those must be the pessimists.

It also is upsetting because it kind of ends my dreams of 12,000 people here this weekend to see, let's say Alabama play Ole Miss, or something along those lines. It should still be a nice crowd, but I'm longing to see this place full. Last night they announced 6,192 for the second session, which is only half full, and it was real loud and rowdy.

Anyway, will post something with the final lines in a little bit. We're 40 minutes from first pitch between No. 4 seed Mississippi State and No. 1 seed Vanderbilt, in today's second elimination game.
