SEC: Final Thoughts On Game Two

By Doug Kroll - May 26, 2007

Simple as this: Vandy dominated in every aspect of this one. They led things 8-0 before Ole Miss could blink, as Brett Bukvich just didn't have it today. He gave up 8 runs on 8 hits in just 1.1 innings. Jesse simpson did a good job stopping the bleeding and not making Mike Bianco use his bullpen when it became a reality that they would be playing another game today. Simpson went 6.1 innings giving up 7 hits and five runs (4 earned) while striking out two.

Vanderbilt's Cody Crowell picks up the win, with eight strong innings of three hit ball whiel giving up just one run and striking out five.

Dominic de la Osa launched his 18th homer, while Pedro Alvarez hit his 17th and Parker Hanks hit his second of the year to pace the 'Dores. Pedro Alvarez is now hitting .411 on the season after a 4-for-4 performance and is now 11-16 during this tournament. Ridiculous.

WIll have preview up for final game of the day in just a few.
