SEC: First Ejection
By Doug Kroll - May 24, 2007
And the first ejection of the 2007 SEC Tournament belongs to....Drumroll please....
Head coach Mike Bianco of Ole Miss for arguing balls and strikes, and just not getting along too well with the homeplate umpire.
The ump told him not to come out any further, but he did, after a walk to Danny Lima by Lance Lynn, Bianco kept coming, and coming, until finally, he got the heeve-ho.
Let's just say he got a few choice words in, it was quite fantastic to watch. I personally wanted a tip of the cap when he went back to the showers as the Ole Miss crowd broke into the fighth song and a loud standing ovation for Bianco.
Ballgame wise, this is getting interesting. Tennessee has first and third after an Andy Simunic basehit, and there's only one out. Lance Lynn will stay on, so here we go, as Ole Miss still leads 6-3 at the moment.
By the way, today's attendance averaged only 5,000+, kinda disappointing. Hopefully it picks up as tomorrow we hit Friday of the holiday weekend.
