SEC: Hogs Climb Back

By Doug Kroll - May 27, 2007

Arkansas answered Vandy's four run first with a leadoff first pitch homer from Jake Dugger, his seventh of the season to the opposite field (leftfield is the only place where homeruns want to go here this week except for Pedro Alvarez!). Then after an Arkansas pitching change in the top half of the second that saw righty Chris Rhoads come into the ball game, Jeff Nutt led off with a single, then Danny Hamblin hit an absolute moonshot to left that just stayed fair to cut the lead to 4-3. For Hamblin, that's homerun number 22 on the season, and No. 57 of his career, which sets the Arkansas school record. Lots of Hogs' records falling here in Hoover this week. Vandy gets the third out here in the inning, as we move to the third with the 'Dores holding a 4-3 lead. By the way, Arkansas won 2-of-3 from Vandy this season.
