SEC: LaPorta's Liftoff

By Doug Kroll - May 25, 2007

There's finally a Matt LaPorta sighting here in Hoover. Florida's best player has been nearly invisible since arriving, but just launched his 20th homer of the season, a two-run shot, deep into the leftfield parking lot, if it landed yet! Florida leads things 2-0, and Cisco is getting hit pretty hard. Avery Barnes just lined a double into the left centerfield gap. LaPorta wants his collegiate career to continue, that's for sure.

LaPorta was well deserving of SEC Player of the Year honors. Here's hoping for USC's sake that is his only major sighting today.
