SEC: No Mercy

By Doug Kroll - May 26, 2007

Everyone was set for Vanderbilt to win this one 10-0 after seven due to the 10 run mercy rule, but Ole Miss had other plans. Logan Power just singled in a run to make it 10-1, and in turn, keep this one going as we will move to the eighth inning. The final game of the day looks like it will be played 45 minutes after the conclusion of this one. Got to admit that there was a little bit of a groan when that ball skipped past Pedro Alvarez at third base, but there's nothing wrong with some more baseball. Vandy is look to tack on some more and end this one an inning early as they have runners on the corners with nobody out. If they regain the 10 run lead here in the top half of the inning, the Rebels will still have a chance to cut the lead to under ten in the bottom half.
