SEC: Slide, Slide, Slide!

By Doug Kroll - May 26, 2007

Kudos to Arkansas catcher Brian Walker for completely faking out South Carolina's Justin Smoak acting as if the ball wasn't coming home after a single by Andrew Crisp. But the ball was indeed coming home, and Smoak never slid, leaving Walker to catch the ball and promptly place a tag on the stunned Smoak.

Must be the smoke or something that got in Smoak's way. OK got the smoke joke out of the way for the day. Phil Disher did hit a SAC Fly to the endge of the wall in left (which he thought was gone off the bat) in the inning to cut th eArkansas lead to 3-1, despite the Gamecocks' six hits through the first three innings.
