SEC: Vandy Dandy

By Doug Kroll - May 26, 2007

Vanderbilt's Pedro Alvarez hit the first homerun to rightfield all week in the top of the first, a two run shot to give Vanderbilt the 2-0 lead. Sorry about the lateness of this, it's the Going yard guys' fault, but check out their stuff. I helped on the hunt for Vanderbilt's superfan, as did Josh Cooper, who has done some writing for us as well. So, it's a CSTV.com party here basically the last couple of days, and I can't forget about Chris Kieffer who has done TTB from Ole Miss all year, Mark Etheridge who has chimed in with his projections (another one will come as soon as the sites are announced tomorrow afternoon at 3:15 eastern), Chris Lee who has done some work with us from Vandy for TTB, and whoever else I'm leaving out. We're all finally putting names to the faces. Anyway, on to the game...

For Vanderbilt today it is lefty Cody Crowell on the mound. He's started only four games but his numbers are good in 19 appearances. He's 3-1 with a 4.17 ERA. While for Ole Miss it'll be lefty Brett Bukvich with a 7-2 record and a 3.11 ERA in 10 starts (16 app.).

Excellent crowd on hand for this one. A lot of red for Ole Miss, but a healthy Vanderbilt contingent as well. Mark told me that if Ole Miss makes it to tomorrow's championship game, the whole state might decide to drive over here.

UPDATE***: Parker Hanks just hit his second homerun of the year, a three run shot over the leftfield fence as Bukvich doesn't seem to have it today.
