SEC: Walk On To The Rescue

By Doug Kroll - May 26, 2007

Excellent story just took place here in Hoover, Vandy reliever Jason Cunningham who had all of 2.2 innings to his credit, and was a former team manager and was a walk-on this year, just came in and shut down Ole Miss the past three innings (will have his final line in a little bit). But talk about coming into a pressure packed situation. This from a kid that looked as if he could barely hit 80 on the gun.

Ole Miss still leads 3-2 in the top of the 7th, with no scoring since the top of the 2nd when I opened my loud mouth and said the run that scored will not be the game winner. I may have jinxed that, but I still doubt it. Vandy's phenom reliever Casey Weathers is now in the game to try and keep the Rebels off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
