SEC: Welcome To Sunday
By Doug Kroll - May 27, 2007
While the ACC just crowned UNC as champions, the SEC will crown either Arkansas or Vanderbilt champions of 2007 this afternoon. Each school just learned something that everyone knew, as they will both host Regionals next weekend, the first time Vandy has ever. Should be a good one this afternoon, here's the matchup:
On the hill for Vandy will be reliever Tyler Rhoden. In ten appearances he's thrown only 14 innings, but is 3-0 with a 5.79 ERA. Opponents are hitting .317 off him, so we'll see how long that lasts.
For Arkansas, let's see if lefty Dallas Keuchel can keep up what the previous Hog starters have done in this Tournament. He's 6-2 with a 5.33 ERA in 22 appearances (8 starts). In 50.2 innings, he's struck out 49 while opponents are hitting .292.
Same lineup for Vandy as we've seen, while the Hogs sport their same..
It's a hot day, 88 degrees and hazy sunshine, hopefully a good crowd is gathering. Lots of Vandy fans in the parking lot.
Gotta go book a flight to either Myrtle Beach, Charlottesville, or Columbia, Mo. Where would you want to be next weekend?
