Tigers Sweep and Roll On To OKC
By Tristan Threlkeld - May 20, 2007
For the second consecutive home series the Oklahoma State Cowboys were swept. The first was against the Texas Longhorns.
The Missouri Tigers are on a roll right now and they will keep on rolling to Oklahoma City for the Big 12 tournament.
The last three innings of the game were boring and brought about no chance for a Cowboy comeback, but on a different note the last time the Cowboys were swept by the Tigers they went on to win the Big 12 tournament in Arlington, Tx.
The Cowboys just looked like a beaten horse compared to the team I saw on Tuesday night against a stellar Wichita State team. The Cowboys just got their self out of hosting an NCAA Regional this season, but maybe that could pay dividends for them as they are 9-1 in their last 10 road games. This Cowboy ball club is good and they can out slug almost every team in the nation, but their Achilles Heel all season has been starting pitching. If the Cowboys can somehow find decent starting pitching for the Big 12 and NCAA tournament they will be very hard to beat, but I just don't see that happening and that means they will have to slug their way to Omaha if they want a chance at an NCAA championship.
"To the victor go the spoils," which happens to be the Tigers this time around. Final from Stillwater 7-4.
