UA-LSU: Bayou Bengals Up Early
By Jean Neuberger - May 06, 2007
The "Sooie Shuffle" is going on right now, as fans are trying to guess which of three hats on the JumboTron contains the Razorback. With the hats flying around like crazy, it's hard to guess!
LSU though hasn't had to guess much on Duke Welker, and they lead Arkansas 2-1 as we've just finished the second inning.
Here's what has gone on so far...
LSU scored right away in the first when Chris Jackson singled. He stole second, and then advanced to third on a fielder's choice by Michael Hollander. Blake Dean singled him home to make it 1-0. Arkansas, though, would answer, as Jake Dugger singled up the middle, stole second, advanced to third on an infield hit by Logan Forsythe, and scored on a fielder's choice by Jeff Nutt (no relation to Arkansas football coach Houston Nutt).
LSU answered back in the second, as Ochinko led off with a single, and would advance to second on the throwing error by SS Matt Willard that sent the ball into the first base stands. Ochinko advanced to third on a balk by Welker, and would score on a blooper to left by Ryan Schimpf.
Welker's thrown 20 pitches after two innings. 18 of them have been strikes. However, LSU's been hitting the ball well, so this could make for a high scoring Sunday.
