UA-LSU: Double Error Cuts LSU Lead

By Jean Neuberger - May 04, 2007

LSU is dead last in fielding percentage in the SEC (.954), and Tiger errors have given Arkansas some life.

First, Sean Jones hit a grounder to second that managed to bounce of Chris Jackson's glove, putting Jones on first and setting up Logan Forsythe for what was quite the interesting play....

Forsythe hit a scorcher to short, but it bounced off the glove of LSU's Michael Hollander and into left field. Sean Jones raced to third, beating the throw from left, but Forsythe, rounding first, slipped, and it looked like LSU had the third out in a rundown. However, the throw to first was bobbled by Jordan Mayer, and Forsythe managed to slide in safely to second.

Two at-bats...three errors. Could the Hogs take advantage?

Yes, they could, as Casey Coon singled up the middle, scoring both Jones and Forsythe, and cutting the lead to 3-2, where it stood after three innings of play. We've got a game on our hands here in Arkansas.
