UA-LSU: Threats Remain Empty

By Jean Neuberger - May 06, 2007

After the continuous back-and-forth scoring in the first four innings, we've gone scoreless the last two, and LSU continues to lead Arkansas, 3-2, as we've finished six innings here in Fayetteville.

Shane Ardoin came in for Jared Bradford in the sixth. Bradford had pitched well, allowing only six hits and two runs, while walking no one. Ardoin faced some problems, as Jeff Nutt had his second double of the game, and Casey Coon walked right afterwards. However, Ardoin struck out Ben Tschepikow, and Danny Hamblin popped up to shallow center to end another Arkansas threat.

The crowd here is getting a little uneasy. It's become a pitcher's duel here, and when the home team is down, it's been a bit of a surprise to Hog fans. Arkansas is 7-0 in conference games played on Sunday this year, and they'll need some hits if they want to keep that undefeated mark.
