UA/MSU: After Eight

By Mark Etheridge - May 17, 2007

Alabama clings to their one run lead after eight complete here in Starkville. All of their runs came on a fifth inning Alex Avila grand slam. They have not a hit since.

In the bottom of the eighth, MSU's Wynn Diggs reached on a one-out single in the eighth off Tommy Hunter but the righty got Edward Easley to ground out and struck out Mitch Moreland on a pair of nasty curves.

4-3 Bama top nine.
