UA/MSU: Big Game Hunter

By Mark Etheridge - May 17, 2007

Tommy "Big Game" Hunter picked up his seventh win with a complete game performance as Alabama beat Mississippi State 4-3. Hunter allowed just five hits and got a grand slam from Alex Avila to account for all of the runs he needed.

With the win, Alabama moves to 14-14 in SEC play. MSU drops to 14-12. The teams meet Friday at 6:30 for game two. A pair of southpaws will pitch as Justin Pigott (4-5/5.04) goes for MSU against Alabama’s Miers Quigley (4-6/4.46).
