UA/MSU: Final at the Dude

Alabama rallied for two runs in the ninth to cut the margin to six but Mike Valentine got Alex Avila to end the game.

Mississippi State won 9-3 to even the series at a game each. The Bulldogs improve to 33-17 and 15-12. Alabama drops to 30-24 and 14-15. Justin Pigott got the win to improve to 5-5. Miers Quigley took the loss to fall to 4-7.

The teams complete the series Saturday at 2 p.m. CT
