UA/MSU: Leftfield Lounge

By Mark Etheridge - May 19, 2007

I spent a couple of innings in the leftfield lounge, a collection of trailers, platforms, and grills that sit beyond the outfield wall. I've often called Dudy Noble Stadium the best smelling ballpark in the country. The bar-b-q aroma didn't disappoint today either. I passed on the buffet - for now. Postgame is another story.

Errors again played a role in the Tide scoring two in the sixth on a pair of hits, an error, and a sac fly.

In the eighth Mississippi State got one of those back as Alabama threw wildly on an inning-ending double play. There has been plenty of action - with Bama centerfielder Emeel Salem making a couple of web-gems - but this has for the most part been very sloppy.

We got to the ninth with Bama up 9-6. Mitch Moreland moved from right to the mound for MSU. Starter Will Stroup is still in for Bama.
