Jet Butler answered Avila’s fifth inning grand slam by smacking a solo home run to right. After Tommy Hunter hit Mark Goforth, Jeffrey Rea singled up the middle to put runners on the corners. Pinch-hitter Wynn Diggs executed a hit-and-run groundout to stay out of a double-play and score Goforth cutting the Bama lead to one. With the tying run at third, Hunter struck out Edward Easley looking.
