UA/MSU: Tightroping without a net

By Mark Etheridge - May 17, 2007

Chad Crosswhite was stumbling across the high-wire as he stranded a pair of runners in the first three innings. It finally caught up with him in the fifth and knocked him out of the game. He did finish with seven strikeouts in four innings.

Alabama had a pair of runners on in the first, second, and third innings and failed to score. After a double play ended the fourth, the Crimson Tide loaded the bases with no outs in the fifth for Alex Avila. Avila, who had already stranded four batters in his two at bats, hit a clothesline-drive out of the park in right-center for a grand slam.

4-1 Bama top five with John Lalor on to pitch for the Dogs. Bama's starter Tommy Hunter has allowed two hits through four - both doubles.
