UA-OM: Hog Slump Continues, Rebs Win 5-4
By Jean Neuberger - May 17, 2007
Let the party begin in Nashville.
Arkansas put the tying run on second, and the winning run on first, but Cody Satterwhite got Wayne Hrozek to pop up to second, and then struck out Casey Coon looking, and Ole Miss kept Arkansas on the losing side of things, winning 5-4 in a back-and-forth battle here at Baum Stadium.
Ole Miss is now 34-20, 15-13. Arkansas is 37-17, 17-11 SEC. The Hogs are now 2-5 in their last 7 SEC games.
WP - Satterwhite
LP - Schmidt (only the 2nd time in his career that Schmidt has lost 2 straight)
With the Ole Miss win, Vanderbilt has clinched the 2007 SEC title. Arkansas has a share of the SEC West, thanks to Miss. State, but can only win it outright with a win over the Rebels. Should Ole Miss or Miss. State tie Arkansas, the Hogs would lose the tie-breaker to either team.
More to come from Fayetteville, but tonight, 8,033 fans leave very unhappy, as Arkansas still can't shake off this slump.
