UA-OM: Hogs Draw First Blood

By Jean Neuberger - May 17, 2007

As Nick Schmidt set Ole Miss down 1-2-3 in the top half of the first, Arkansas wasted no time jumping on Will Kline in the bottom half of the first. Jake Dugger walked, and then Logan Forsythe hit a shot to deep center that just got over Logan Power's head and bounced off the wall. It turned out to be a triple for Forsythe, and Dugger crossed home for the first run of the game.

However, the Hogs couldn't get Forsythe home. Jeff Nutt struck out swinging on a nasty sliding pitch that bounced in the dirt before finding the catcher's glove. Casey Coon then struck out looking at a pitch that he thought was ball four, as he was heading to first before the ump called him out. Brian Walker then struck out on the same nasty breaking stuff that Nutt did, and the Rebels escaped further damage.

3 K's for Kline, but after one inning of play, it's Arkansas up 1-0.
